Well the link to my picture doesn't work if you click it from another site.

You'll have to type it in the browser if you really want to see it. Sorry.

who cares who's the best? y, so you can be like "yeah im the best guitar player at guitartricks. yeaaaaaaah"? personally there is no 'best'.

Benoit

Come on!

This is a friendly competition. Don't take this so personnaly. Most of the guitarist I know play better than me. So what! Lalimace's solos are a lot more technical than mine. So what! I like what he does and this kind of friendly competitions gives us the opportunity to create. It stimulates my creativity by trying to push my solos further.

If you don't like it well too bad but at least let us have our fun with it.

You are right because anyway you cannot really say who is the BEST. That's why I said I'd like to say I'm the funniest... Who is better? It depends on your taste and mood.

I think this competition is just some way to let other people hear my work and see my (funny) face... But not like guitarwar, just for the fun of it.

Well if your taking nominations for best guitartricks player count my vote for Schmange. Just about any riff does it but my favs are
http://www.guitartricks.com/2000/trick.php?trick_id=3334
....cause it's got tons of timing changes
http://www.guitartricks.com/2000/trick.php?trick_id=1656
.... cause its impossible to play...and
http://www.guitartricks.com/2000/trick.php?trick_id=1606
.... cause it's a country ho-down and also impossible to play.
...plus he does all the midi as well.

Uhh dude, if you take guitarwar seriously then you shouldn't be on the site (not directed at you, just talking in general). Guitarwar is for fun, and sharing ideas with other musicians.

I dont know what you mean by tour comment.

My stuff is at http://www.mp3.com/Ben_Thomas

There is a picture of me on there with Vinnie Moore in the 'images' section. By the way, Vinnie is a shortass, im only 5'6 and im taller than him lol!

I mean that "war" kind of disturbs me. I would love to be a part of the site, if it wasn't under the war thing and if I didn't have to pay for it. I have read comments and stuff, and really, I can see that most comments are really helpful and stuff, but still, I think that there's agressiveness in the vote system, the 'VS'... it looks kind of like a WWF contest, with cage match and everything. The idea is great, don't get me wrong, I still listen to the public access tunes, and enjoy it! but something makes me feel weird about it... I hope nobody will be offended by my post.

Branislav

nobody wanted war!!!
it's just funny competition where we could see who is the most popular around here, but i don't want war.
if there are more people who are against this kind of fun, i will not make the list at all. it's even easier for me, i don't have enough time for that, but i wanted to make some fun with all that stuff.

I don't really know about "Best" guitarist, best is such a relative term, but after seeing the posted photos, I think their may be some strong competion for " Ugliest Guitarist", actually lalimacefolle could be my younger twin brother, and I think Vinnie Moore is taller and someone is just sitting in his lap? Just joking around guys!

I have a Zoom 505 Guitar and record my tracks on a Yamaha MT4X four track. Then, when I'm satisfied with the mix I use Cool Edit to record and get rid of the noises as much as I can.

I'm just getting the whole mixing part. I find it really hard.

Here word "the best" means "the most popular"
Keith Richards is definetly the ugliest one.

try Sound Forge 5. it's really the best one, and you have all those effects at one place (compression, reverb, distorsions, noise gate...) , and it's really easy to use

I use cool edit too, and even though everyone around me uses sound forge, I still resist (don't know why though)

Um, I have some questions. First off, I have a ZOOM 505 Effects Pedal. I don't know if that's what Benoit was talking about or if he actually has a GUITAR branded ZOOM 505. Just wanted to know if that's what you mentioned. Second, I would like to know how you record onto your computers. I have a pretty good idea that(besides the software, which I can get) I need some sort of jack or port to hook up to the computer. Any ideas what exactly I should buy? Please. I would like to put myself up for you to choose whether I should be voted or not. I suck...but I want YOU all to decide that. I KNOW I suck...you guys don't. So far, the only person I've heard is Lalimacefolle and I would like to vote him. I dunno. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THE RECORDING EQUIPMENT. Thanks,

You need to hook your zoom 505 to your sound card. You need to see what's your 'out' in the zoom and what you soundcard's 'in' looks like. Then buy a cable who can hook to both of them. It should be a normal Jack on one side and a stereo mini jack on the other end. Ask your local store to get what you need.

Now vote for me....;)

Here's a reason to: http://lalimace.free.fr/mp3/technoguit.mp3 :D

Come one Lalimace! Stop posting good solos you're making mine fade away ;)

Jokes aside really good solo, love it. Keep them coming!

As for my zoom pedal, I don't connect directly from it but if you do, make sure to take the volume of your pedal down a lot. You don't need a loud sound to record. In fact, it will sound real bad if your too loud. So turn the volume down.

lalimace, you play great but shredding sucks and that techno thing too, don't you have any bluesy rock stuff? If you do post the best thing you got!
Branislav I liked one of the songs hootayah posted. I think it's the first link. It may not be extremly difficult but its the style of music and the style of guitar playing I like.

future shop has some excellent "ports/sound card input devices", excuse me I don't know the lingo, however there is an interesting attatchment that enables one to input just about anything ei. rca, video, 9-pin, 24-pin, 1/8 jack,1/4 jack, high/low impediance microphones, and control input levels as well; if I recall it isn't too expensive. I'm planning to attatch it to my computer and use software such as pro lab, wave guitar, or cubase. Initially I use a four track then download it to the computer; you can even use easy cd creator for this, touch up the sound and go straight to burning cds cheap, cheap.

I know, that's why I try to imitate it... By the way, in my techno stuff, no synths were used...

Here's some blues rock:

Samuri warriors never hate their apponent, they respect them uttmost wether they win or lose. My style is wue chi yebula samuri guitar, although I may suck at hand to hand combat I am able to blow my apponnents eardrums with rancid disonant feedback.

pretty good... but I'm desapointed that none of you has been advenurous enough to put their own vocals on their tracks... I like your stuff la lamace.... It put a smile on my face when some said that you shred.. because I can go pretty fast myself... and I'm totally against it in principal... but I then and go an record ...
I'll hopefully will have recorded some stuff by the next two weeks or so...

If I sing, when am I gonna shred then??? ;)

I love playing powerful stuff. And sometimes it involves shredding... I wonder if people who hate shred aren't a little technically challenged? Just a question.
I can play slow blues stuff, jazz, country, and I sometimes (Ok, very often) let it wail. And I enjoy doing all of them. I used to go in blues clubs, and I tried Not to play really fast and get all those tasty licks and soulful bends, but when I got home, I wasn't satisfied with what I had done. I finally understood I have to rip because it's part of my style. I wrote kids songs a while ago, and I did this sweep picking thing in the intro, I thought it was very funny. Oh yeah there are vocals too...
