Hi,
I've been playing rhythm guitar for a long time and would like to learn to play lead guitar. For now, I'd like to learn specific songs and their leads. After visiting tab sites and seeing the ads for guitar tricks, I am a bit skeptical, since it seems you have video lessons for every song I look up. If you really do have lessons for these songs, including the leads, I'll join in a heartbeat. What's the real scoop?

Hi Reslate..
At the present the exact songs are a crossection of styles, and at different skill level
Only 25 at the present. More to come as a GT gets licensing to do so..
Most of the tutorials I've looked thru teach you a song in the style of a particular artist..
The following is a list of what's available..
Ace of Spades - Motorhead
Before You Accuse Me - Eric Clapton
Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas
Closer to Fine - Indigo Girls
Drive - Incubus
Dust in the Wind - Kansas
Free Ride - Edgar Winter Group
I Ain't Drunk - Albert Collins
No Rain - Blind Melon
Shining Star - Earth, Wind, and Fire
The Sky Is Crying - Stevie Ray Vaughan
What I Like About You - The Romantics
Wild Thing - The Troggs
Working For The Weekend - Loverboy
After You've Gone - Joe Pass
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - Traditional
Joy of Man's Desiring - Bach
Joy to the World - Traditional
Midnight Special - Traditional
O Come All Faithful - Traditional
Ode To Joy - Beethoven
Old Joe Clark - Traditional
Scarborough Fair - Traditional
Silent Night - Traditional
The best thing is you can address the instructor of the tutorial you are working on if you run into a problem..
You couldn't call you private instructor at home..
Or post a question to the membership. You can even get info on equipment problems.
Wether you join or not, good luck and keep pickin'

The lesson's music notation and tabs are printable. They also have a jam track that goes along with many lessons.
You can beat the price and conviences..

I have encountered the type of click-ads I think you are mentioning and they are very misleading.
That said, GT does have a growing list of songs, and lesson material to learn guitar, it can't be beat imo. If it means anything to you, I was a subscriber to a site that carried a huge list of song lessons, but cancelled that and am only subscribing to GT now. That's the best rating I can give I guess. :)
