I played rythym guitar in country also standards. It was great for backing with my vocals. Now that I just play at Senior Center near home, I would like to learn how to play lead better. I know some of the scales and i am now learning more. I am new to site and I welcome any advise on what to start with. Thank you all.

Have a look at the lesson in GF2 on how scales and chords are related to each other to get a good understanding. Often an experienced rhythm guitarist can get a better sense of what is required by realizing that those single note fills in between chords are a great way to start thinking in terms of fills.
Start here and go through a few tutorials:

This tutorial is aimed right at guitarists just getting into lead playing:

After that you will be ready to tackle the Blues or Country Courses which will fill in all the lead playing basics for you!

Then when you are ready for some great licks and fills, ask me again. I've got tons of them! Best of success. :)
