I had my first guitar lesson ever last Wednesday. It went real well,and the instructor was friendly and helpful. He's teaching me to read music at first,which is good,because I didn't have a clue. It all looked liked Chinese to me... :rolleyes:

Any way,now I have a clue at least.. :) . I was nervous about having a formal lesson,but it was cool,and having the instructor to observe and give me tips is really helpful. Combined with the lessons here,I may actually learn to play the guitar... :cool:

That's great Bill, the more you learn, the easier it gets!

The fact that you are active in both studying online as well as with an instructor in person only doubles you up on the motivation. Even as a professional guitarist and producer, I still take lessons to keep myself in check. I often put myself under the misconception that I know more than I think I do, and further studies always remind me that we are all students for life. Here is a live video of the guitarist I study with Tim Young;
