its like a d not maj as it is not 1 3 5 its 1 5 1 5 so two frets up on the e string from a sus 4

If I've understood you correctly, it is called a D5. It's similar to a power chord, but because of where you are voicing it, it doesn't sound as rock'n roll as power chords usually do.

It just sounds like a chord that's neither major nor minor!
