Sitar?

I was watching the Love Guru last night and afterwards I was dying to play a sitar. I dont see that happening, but I was wondering are they hard to play? Looks like it would crazy keeping them in tune! Anyone have any experience with them?

my Variax Line 6 has a Coral Sitar modelled. I never tried it (do not know what to play). I can test for you, if you like.

I have a Line6 PODx3, don't think i've ever seen any sitar effects in it.

later I will try. My Pod XT Live have a setting for the Variax Sitar, using Line 6 Variax Acustic Amplifier and 1987 Jazz Clean Cab plus several effect. Do you have any link to some music plaued with the real Sitar so I can compare it sounds with the one from the Variax?

just go to youtube and type in sitar...I got all kinds of stuff. There was an video of 2 guys doing a sitar rendition of sweet child of mine....awesome

I have tried the sitar on my Variax 300 Electric, and the sound is far from the original but it has something of it. Maybe the Acustic 700 sounds better (it has modelled an acustic sitar).
