Just curious if anyone is familiar with how much it would cost to master a 10 song album.

Just curious if anyone is familiar with how much it would cost to master a 10 song album.
i may be a little rusty in my recollection but I think a good, mid-level mastering would be $100 - $150/hr and maybe 6+ hrs work. Should include spacing/sequencing, song levels etc. Assuming to have the final mixdown.
That's for a good master that starts with a good mix. Mastering is totally a 'you get what you pay for' deal. The big dogs get paid what they do for a reason.

Check out this site, it sais all of the different cost for different things. It's in candian dollars though cause the studio is in Toronto.

Rock on. Thanks guys. I'm trying to record am album and keep it somwhere within a $5000 budget. So I'm trying to get all my duck in a row and be very organized abour the whole process.

Man why don't you go buy you a Boss BR-900 portable 8 Track Recorder with a total of 64 virtual tracks,onboard effects for guitars ,vocals,basses,midi's,etc.It has a built in condensor mic also for on the go.And it has a built in CD Burner when you finish editing,all for $600.00
Buy you a DVD INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO FROM WWW.PROAUDIODVDs.COM,they have one for the BR-900,That will teach you how to start to end in 2 hours,and the Quality is equal to your local studio and your in control.Believe it works.Go to Boss or Roland .com and look up the BR-900 and watch the video's on it.Get the Version 2 BR-900 with 1gb card.
