I'm relatively new to playing the guitar, and I'm really having a hard time with the b major chord. Is there an easier way to play it without losing the richness of the chord?

Hi California Girl,

B major is a bear. It requires a lot of hand and finger strength that takes time to develop. If it is driving you crazy, my recommendation would be to just do your best with it, and be patient with yourself. There are plenty of other things to work on!

In some cases, you may substitute a B7 chord for a B major. It works nicely in some songs. The B7 chord is much easier to do. Here is the fingering:

Lisa's right! It's hard and you have to be patient with yourself while you keeping worked on it. :)
