Trooper Tune Picking Question

The intro to this song as a repeating pattern played in A# and F basically in the A# power chord shape. I guess it would be 2 16th notes on A# followed by an 8th on the F and repeat thru A#, G# & C#. It's very simple, but fast (for me!).

Logic suggests doing upstroke, downstroke, downstroke (A#,A#,F) as it is more economical, and this is what I practice.

Conversely, downstroke, upstroke, downstroke feels more 'natural', seems to sound more emphatically correct (if that's even a thing), but takes more time to move the pick around.

Either way, I have to skip strings. Any recommendations?

Otherwise, I've got this tune down pretty good, but when I hit those sections my timing falls apart a bit. :rolleyes:

Ever thought of finger picking with the pinky doing the upstroke? The timing is pretty snappy and so musch so that I wonder if that's how it was done.

I remember giving you grief about being a canadian-phile but Raise a Little H*ll is a fav of mine. On a generally more recent note...the self titled Sven Gali ROCKED!!!!!!

I tried it. Too soft a tone in my ears, but a good suggestion. Last night I went at it beginning on the downstroke again. Still works out better for me even though it's more movement. I shall post my question in the instructor forum and see if I can get an official opinion. :)
