Hi all from sunny Perth in Western Australia.

My 37th birthday present is a subscription to a guitar tutorial site. Picked up the guitar in my late 20s. I keep picking it up and putting it down because I'm plateauing constantly, I don't think my playing has changed in the last 4 years at least. I feel like I just need some direction. I think it's time to do something different.

So I decided to bite the bullet and sign up to GT. Liked the way the site was layed out and the explanations that the videos give. Had a quick peruse of some tutorials, Joes "Jimi Hendrix" tutorial caught my eye, I fired it up an in the first lesson had me going 'WOW, really?' I believe the words 'That was worth the price of admission right there' came out :)

I'd like to one day have my wife say 'Hey that sounded really good'. My kids have said that, but given some of their musical tastes, I'm not sure if that's a compliment or an insult.

So I'm looking forward to absorbing as much as I can, and probably annoying the hell out of the tutors.

Hi Trinitro,

Happy Birthday!

Welcome to Guitar Tricks, you should find just what you need here to boost your skill up above the plateau and beyond, we're adding about 100 new videos per month and our instructors are very helpful.
I'd recommend the rock, country or blues courses on the main page based on your taste or if you'd like to learn something quick and new the 'tips and tricks' section from the instructor of your choice.
Have fun!

Trinitro; When I got to my latest plateau it lasted for about 15 YEARS. Then I logged on to this site, finally decided to study theory. After that it opened up a new world! Everything I had learned all came together, it was an epiphiny like I`d never known. It was better than sex! Now I`m jazzin` , shreddin, and doin` just about what ever I want. I havn`t hit a plateau since! This site is awesome. THEORY THEORY THEORY!! Good luck, enjoy.
