I recently started getting serious about learning the guitar. I have a Yamaha Acoustic F-310 that I have had for about 10 years now.

I have some wrist issues with my left hand and it is hard and uncomfortable to reach some fingerings. I broke my left arm as a teenager and had to have the outer bone on my wrist removed to graft into the forearm therefore I lost some mobility in the wrist.

My question is is there wrist exercises I can do or should I consider switching to a Left-Handed Guitar?

Thanks,
John

HI, Vaps. Somebody else might be able to give you some specifics for guitar oriented help, but if it is "pain" type help in general, some weight exercises might help.

I've caused myself some damage of the RSI type to my wrists and shoulders over the years. What improved things a LOT was when I took up a bit of weight training.

If it is stretching and reach, the Spiderlegs exercises on this site might help.

Either way, it's got to be easier than turning ambidexterous. :)

Thanks for the reply Razbo!

I am starting to do that, I was just wondering if anybody else had a similar experience or any ideas.
