Hello
Just wondering if anyone knows how to get the great man's Sound using effects pedals. Any suggestions on where i can get any info would be much appreciated.

Since a lot of his solos are based around the wah wah pedal, it's gonna be hard...
Use a guitar with humbuckers, a floyd rose tremolo, and a hot marshall (jcm 900) that's a good start... But he also uses a ibanez tubescreamer for solos, it's a part of his rig, and it's a pedal...

Dear Steve...
Maybe you didn't see, but our friend has listed his OWN equipment, not Kirk's. His answer only is about the VG8, not anything else... His list is his signature, like mine (you have...)

That doesn't sound like any kind of good argument to me!!!
If you want to tell us why you dislike Metallica's music, or maybe only Kirk's sound, feel free, but back it up!!

No need to explain, any guitarist with half a brain knows Kirk is one of the most overated players EVER.
I also didn't say Selloutallica were bad, their first 3 were OK..

eddy b's request for help with effects selection isn't served by offering a subjective opinion on whether or not Kirk Hammet is a great guitarist.
Please show the members the respect owed to them. We have some phenominal musicians among us. For all you know you've just dissed someone you should look up to.

Ok sorry dudes..
Eddy B - Most of the players you look up to, often dont get their tone from their amp as its like 80-90% finger tone anyway... I went to see Vinnie Moore at a clinic a few weeks back and I played through EXACTLY the same amp he played through that night, he made it sound KILLER, when I plugged it in it sounded like..me, nothing special.. So it shows ya that most of the awesome players out there get their tone from their fingers, and not always their gear..

I do agree with you lukather/timmons all most all tone comes from the hands, not the equipment but needless to say it does help!!! And i feel like the peavey rage is allmost draining me pshycologicaly not for tone but for my guitar playing in general so thats why i commented onr the rage..
