Surfing the net the other night, I found an informative document on EQ that's mostly geared towards recording. Thought I would share it with you guys.

Nice find Rick, some great info in there that helps to explain a lot of the ERQ mystery. Only really starting to understand basic mixing concepts now after years of mucking around with muddy recordings. This will help!

Excellent!
Glad that it has helped someone. I'm not really worried about recording yet, but realize this could be useful information when trying to setup my own tone.

Good stuff. Back in the day, when I wasn't playing, I would run sound for some friends bands when the soundman would flake. I did decently and was usually better than the regular guy. I have a fussy ear. Then you meet someone that really knows what they're doing...makes a fella realize that real mixing talents and EQing particularly are a real skill. Getting how all these frequencies work together take knowledge. The doc you found is a wonderful guide. I mean sure, ya gotta have an ear to begin with but it's nice to really know what affects what. Good work :)
