Hi again.

I own and am learning electic/accoustic guitar and someone has given me an electric with small headphone amp so I can practice when the kids are asleep. It needs new strings putting on which I was also given but... I know how to wind the tuning pegs but at the other end each string passes over individual metal part which can be adjusted forward and back to make the string longer or shorter. Sorry I dont know the name of this part. Can anyone advise how these should be adjusted when stringing the guitar please?

They're called saddles........but don't worry about them. Just tune the guitar up with an auto tuner, then I like to check it manually but you don't have do. I only had to adjust my saddles after I started to learn palm muting and that was only personal preference. good luck!

Do you know the brand or model of the guitar?

Nothng fancy,t's a Peavey Raptor 1. Was just curous as to the functon of the saddles. I can see a screw that allows them to lengthen and shorten the strngs, and each has 2 tiny allen studs that seem to alter the string height. Just curious as to the affect on tuning these would have.
