i just learned to play my first proper piece of music "save tonight by Eagle eye cherry " its a simple little loop ( i think thats what its called ) that plays throughout the song. Its Am, F, C, G then back to Am. Thing i like about this is its simple sounds really good and it actualy sounds the same as in the song :) . Much better than me randomly slecting the first chord that comes into my head when im playing. Are there any other simple guitar loops i can learn and practice ? im a beginner so please dont get to techical :) thanks

sure,
what kind of music do you like?
C, G, F, F
(the F chords are some other
diminished augmented thing...cant remember)
but for simplicity, just use a regular F
:)
use this progression to play either
1. 'Helpless', by Neil Young
or
2. 'Drops of Jupiter', by Train.
just listen to the song for the rhythm
hope that helps
p.s....i "think" that to play the F how they do it,
just use a regular F but let the high e string ring open?

One of my favorite decending patterns goes like this
F, C, G, Am.
Sounds really cool if you pick them or strum, either fast or slow.

Three basic chords that are used very often are D, C, G. They can be arranged in various ways. Experiment with 'em.

Just to add to what livewire6866 mentioned, alot of songs do use a simple G-D-C progression, a fair few Barenaked Ladies songs (Old Apartment, What a good boy etc) use this basic pattern as do some John Denver songs etc. Another one is G-Em-C-D which you can find on songs like Pearl Jams cover of Last Kiss.
