but I sometimes cry when I hear some music... Not because I'm sad or crazy, but because the music moves me...
I used to think I wasn't sane, but I have seen this movie about a pianist who was born on a ship, and who cries when he hears good music...

I know that feeling. It's been a long time since I've actually CRIED, but I still get that choked up feeling with a lot of stuff.
The last song I actually cried to was a tune by Edwin McCain, called "Prayer to St. Peter" off the Messenger CD. The lyrics are based on a poem he found in a WWII museum, probably written by a soldier in the field. Goes like this:

for they are very tired

Oh Little wing does it for me too...lol. And that poem made the little hairs on my arms stand up. You are definately not insane. I think everyone gets a little choked up from music every once in a while. I just don't let my husband see it...lol. :)

Yes a song that has a moving melody really moves you, what it does is kinda brings back a moment in your life not as a memory but it brings back the feeling you had at that time. If you hear a sad slow melody your gonna feel sad because its bringing back a feeling when you may have lost someone in your life and a fearce angry melody is gonna hype you up and you may have gotten that feelin when you have hated someone

Personally i love moving music :(

Pretty Angry by Blues Traveler always hits me like that, John Popper wrote it about the death of their bassist (Bobby Sheenan) and it seems to hit the right feelings for anyone who has ever lost someone close to them

For me it's the forgotten part 2 by Joe Satriani. Brings up some difficult times but I just love when he breaks into his main solo. One of the greatest guitar player in my opinion.
