I have a POD 2.0 and my dad has the AX2 2x12 both are good for house practice amps, but if you want real tone, you have to go tubes!!

Admittedly, it does more than I need, but I got a great deal on it used. It sounds killer through a stereo tube power amp.

Hey, from everything I've heard the AX series is crap. They've got a ton of effects and channels, but the quality isn't that great.

I've got the Spider, and while it doesn't have as many effects and channels, the quality of the amp models is way better. I compared a Spider and an AX side by side, and the distortion channels and the tone of the Spider were 100x better.

Now if I could only afford a Vetta . . .

The amps? I am not sure of, I do not own one. The POD 2.0 I just did a recording project and it did great in the studio, we ran it on 2 tracks left and right, and well pleased with the results. Now lets talk live.. I hated it, I was constantly having to re tweak in every gig. I could never get it to sound the same from one gig to the next. Each time/gig I tweaked, I would save and soon had 12 different lead break sounds that were supposed to be the same setup. Finally last month, I just bought a Traynor Tube amp (Canadian made amp), dug out my TS-9, my TC chorus, and delay stomp box, and with 2 channels on amp, that is my entire set up for live now. The older I get the more I am realizing that there is not a pretty colored magic box (effects) that is going to make me sound better than I really am--so I am forgetting the amp modeling, and the "buy all the gear I can get" these days and concentrating on what we all need to concentrate on...OUR TECHNIQUE. With a good tube amp, a guitar that will stay in tune, and a minimum amount of effects, and a devoted amount of hard work on our technique, you/I can get way further down the road with a good technique in contrast with having the latest thing out.

my dad owns a spider and its really nice, but personally I would just buy the effects separately. but thats just personal preference. and, as vic wisely made mention of, you dont got the skills you dont got the sound.

Does anyone own or have heard the flextone 2 head.
I am thinking of buying one and need honest review.
100watt stereo. from what Ive read this amp kicks ass.
