Custom String Sets

I was wondering where you could just buy single strings, to make your own custom set. In Musicans Friend you can buy single strings, but there Rogues. I don't wont to buy 6 packs just for six strings.. The reason Im asking cus I wanted to try what the guy from Coal Chamber does.. He uses SIT Strings from 20, 26, 36, 46, 56, 70

Don't try putting those suspension calbes on your guitar, it wil doughnut the neck in no time. Meegs' guitar is custom made to handle the stress or something. If you put 70's on your guitar, you WILL ruin the neck. 13's are pushing it enough.

All I know about his guitar, is it's a Custom Bc Rich, It's a telecaster type shape but with a curved body. Single Duncan Humbucker at the briged..

I agree with loner92, those sucka's will snap that neck in no time!

THe biggest strings that I ever put on a guitar were 12-52's.

I had a friend who was a guitar tech at a local music store, and he had a Yngwie Malmsteen strat.

Anyway, he put a custom set of 14-70's on there cause the scalloped neck let him bend them.

But, he had to take them off cause the neck almost snapped.

i put a set of 13's on my acoustic and in a few days, i had a big crack on the back of my guitars neck, so i took em off.

They're right, unless, however, you're going to be tuning down a couple of whole steps. Also, you could get the neck setup to handle them, just take it to the shop, tell them how low you want it tuned, and ask them if the guitar could handle it if they tweaked the neck.

I tune down to 1 and droped D or 2 steps
