Howdy!

I've been a registered lurker on this site for quite a while now... I've been a musician of sorts for well over 30 years (drums, percussion, and piano) but only picked up a guitar for the first time 6 months ago. The lessons found on this site have been inspiring. I have a PC set up in my quasi-music room so I can watch the video lessons while I practice.

Frighteningly enough I'm finding myself starting to accumulate guitars. My first acoustic guitar was a Fender Newporter. I got it for sentimental reasons and it's a guitar I plan to keep for the rest of my life. A couple of months ago I decided to transition to playing an electric guitar. I now have two electric guitars. The first is a Paul Reed Smith SE Billy Martin. Though it lacks the aesthetics of some of the other PRS SE's, its an awesome guitar to practice with. The young man who sold it to me had installed these gothic volume and tone knobs which were somehow shorting out the pots. I replaced them with OEM speed knobs and the guitar immediately sprang to life. My second, and favorite, electric is a Michael Kelly Valor X. This guitar sounds and feels totally incredible! From the first moment I played one I knew I had to have it. Thankfully I blundered into a once in a lifetime deal!

For Amp's I have a Roland Micro Cube and a Fender G-DEC. Being a technophile I've already got the G-DEC hooked to my PC and its great fun customizing and creating sound to accompany me while I practice.

Ya know... in looking at this post I'm sadly realizing that I'm probably one of the best equipped newbies who still can't consistently play a barre chord!! Yikes!

THANK YOU ALL for all of the awesome lessons and tutorials!
