Hi,
I'm a new guitarist (playing about 8 months now), I've been playing mostly acoustic and just trying to work on the basics. I'm interested in figuring out bluegrass, I've been working on the bluegrass licks/lessons here (and LOVE it), but am wondering about what lies underneath the licks. I don't see any instruction on the rhythm guitar that (in my mind) must exist with the licks.

Are there any recommended artists that would be a "must listen" for someone starting to figure this stuff out?

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Anton

Hey Anton,
I have some lessons that are not shown as bluegrass lessons, but work for bluegrass rhythm. They are basic chord beginner's lessons using the boom chick strum, which is the predominant strum for bluegrass.

I've played bluegrass music since I was 12, and this would probably be a good place for you to start. Just start slow, and as you get used to the strumming the speed will come.

here is the link for the tutorial containing these lessons http://www.guitartricks.com/tutorial.php?input=82
