D Major is probably the easiest.

If your wanting to learb chords classical is not really the guitar... Anyway, I'd say E minior or maybe open 5 chords like 2 note chords 'E 5th'. In my first guitar lesson (sooo sooo long ago) I learnt E, A , C , D , G and in my second lesson I learnt E minor and A minor.

D is probably the easiest but you have to get used to not playing the first 2 strings. If you learn an E chord first you can move it up and down the fretboard and get some additional chords out of it. Like start 12 frets up and move down a couple of frets at a time makes a nice sounding song.
Once you get the E chord down, it's a simple step to move on to barre chords.
Just learn to press your first finger across all the frets while your other 3 fingers do a chord in the E shape.

That is a great idea. Learning one chord alone is not gonna help you.
The method above allows you to learn 1 chord that can be used many different ways.
I am not familiar with classical guitar, but for rock guitar, if all you knew was the power chord you would still be ok.
