Well I kept seeing that little video every time I grudgingly checked out a tab to learn a couple of licks for a song, so I guess it was worth seeing whether or not the ad is worth while.

I've been playing for about two and a half years. I'm not sure if I can say I'm any good or not, nor will I say I am. I surround myself with so much music I breathe it as if I'd die without it. I really love all the 80's metal like Skid Row, Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, etc. I also dig some of the newer guys like Jet and Godsmack, but I don't much care for all sound alike guys if you catch me.

Lately I've been dwelling heavily on starting up a band, but I only get a lesson from my teacher every so often, and I really want to show him how far I'm willing to go. Kinda like showing up one day and shredding so much that his PA starts to smoke, y'know? I'm prattling now, so I guess I'll stop there.

Looking forward to being part of the community.

I haven't made any songs, but I am coming up with an Iron Maiden inspired song about Rasputin. The only problem is everything I looked up about him makes him sound like a good guy.

You don't try to kill good people 5-8 times in one night.

...unless they are annoying you or getting in the way.

haha...

personally, i would start with a cover band.

get a few friends together, and play 5 or 6 songs you all like.
this will get you used to playing with other people and writing songs of your own.
