Building a bass

i'm thinking about building my own 6 string bass. does anyone have any comments or tricks or guides of any sort? it would be really helpful.

Well, if you want to build one from scratch, you're better of buying one, cause that'll be a lot cheaper(you need quite a bit of gear to build one I believe), and probably a lot better too.(unless you expect your first attempt to be perfect)
