This one is...different. Tell me what you think.

-----------

I once met with a foe
he said “it’s not too late
to save your soul
from an ugly fate –
just turn around and go the way you came”
I didn’t even wait
my gun exploded and I watched his legs
fold under his own weight

I fell down on my knees
for I knew that I had won
it’s a foolish man who seeks
to live life as the man without a gun

I carried on my trail,
my destination near
determined not to fail,
my destiny appeared
I thought of those who helped my quest
and those who interfered,
so many people dead and gone
so that I could be here

I fell down on my knees
in the light of the setting sun
Echoed names upon the breeze
say “you’re just another man without a gun”

My life was then
replayed before my eyes
and living it again
I came to realize
all the lies I’d known were really true
and all the truths were lies
and I’d been warned a thousand times
a thousand times

I fell down on my knees
when I saw what I had done
and the dying man agrees,
It’s good to be the man without a gun

I have to admit, I really didn't get much from the lyrics except I really liked this line. I think you could write a complete different song and a better one using this line as you inspiration.

Just a thought!
