I wanted to get something I could use to jam along with without buying a G-Dec and/or spending a fortune. These things go for $180 (AC adapter is extra) but I picked one up on Ebay with the adapter for $86. The manual is available on line from Roland.
This is a pretty powerful little box and it has features that I may get around to some day but for now, the canned/demo tracks are great! Even on the demo tracks (there are 100 of them that include drum and base line) I can vary the tempo and the key so this makes it one very useful practice tool and 'fun machine'.
