Should i buy this stuff for my first guitar?

Is this good enough equipment for home use? Im just wanting to learn for fun and im trying to spend as little money as possible while still getting good quality items.

I don't know if you've gone to a local music shop and done some experimenting with guitars, but you may want to before you make your decision. It's a whole lot easier to learn, and you're a lot more likely to stick with it if you have a guitar that you like and that is comfortable for you.

As far as your question, I'd say that's an OK setup for an absolute beginner, as you progress, you're definitely going to want better gear, though.

No i havent went to any local music shops yet but i will go check it out. I kinda figured i would need new gear once i got better, but atm i cannot afford to spend much more than the $300. In the future im sure ill buy better equipment when i can afford it and thx for your help

They sell kits that come with the guitar, amp, extra set of strings, picks, and usually some learning books or dvds that are around $200.

yea after posting this i found this (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Squier-Stop-Dreaming-SE-Special-Pack-With-Squier-SP10-Amp?sku=513287) set and this (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Junior-and-Amp-Pack?sku=513158) set and i was wondering if those items were good quality items. I cant decide between the kit or the individual items i posted before. Which would be better value for the money?
As far as the learning part i already have a program that teaches me how to play so i got that part covered.

Don't get a pack - you can generally get better equipment outside of them. I'd suggest a squire standard strat. The Crate amp looks OK, but it might also be worth looking at the Line 6 Spider amps - they're good for the money.

Cables - not very important at this stage - just go cheap.
Tuner - the same
Strap - the same
Picks - get a bunch of different gauges so you can experiment

Great advice from Ren. The most important thing is the guitar itself and a good selection of regular shaped plectrums (forget the Ninja shuriken shapes!). Squire Strat is a solid starter as is an Epiphone or my personal favourite - an entry level Ibanez. It kind of depends on the type of music you like though - Ibanez is a great all rounder that veers more heavily thowards rock and metal. They come with tremelo systems too and 24 frets, you may or may not want to go the trem route but if you do its handy to start out on a model with one in place rather than trying to get used to it later. As far as amps go a cheap modeler is great for starting with. I would look at the VOX AD30VT, Line6 Spider or Crate Microcube - all reasonably priced with good bang for the buck fromo jazz to blues to metal.

I would recommend getting a Gibson Explorer, and a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier for starters...Jk.. :D . My first electric guitar was an Ibanez Gio, and I played that for nearly 4 years!!! Poor me. It wasn't that bad, but now that I have a Gibson I can't stand to play it. I would reccomend either an Entry level Ibanez, or a squire.

Im leaning more towards the rogue hh but i want some peoples opinions first. Also im trying to spend as little money as possible due to my budget at the moment.

Capo - cool, but you don't need one to start necessarily... and Check out G7th
Strings - cool... easier to play 9's... but cool
Picks - cool, but maybe get more gauges and fewer of each gauge
Tuner - cool
Cable - cool
Strap - cool
Amp - Cool

On the guitar... you'll get less noise from the rogue HH , but in my opinion the strat is a better first guitar. To be honest with any of the distortion from that amp engaged, they'll sound pretty similar so it's down to how they feel in your hands... Have you played them?

Yea after looking at the stock strings on the rouge i changed them to 9s. The reason i want the capo is for tuning purposes. Because eventually i will tune half step down. I think im gona go with the rouge on the guitar. It has jumbo frets and i have a really good feeling i will be needing them. I have farely large hands. As far the the pics go im getting one pack of medium and one pack of heavy picks. thx for your help

It's actually the G7th 'Performance' Capo that I use - a little pricey for a capo but really good, and I don't have tuning problems with it.

Hope all the kit arrives OK and you're happy with your new toys... :)

i have one question. When i receive the guitar should i change the strings as soon as i get it or should i wait and change them later?

And what exactly is the difference between 9-11-16-24-32-42 and 9-11-16-24w-32-42 gauge strings?
