I want to get myself a little travelling amp. I guess about 5w, not really too sure on wattage to be honest. I'd like to get one before my birthday which is this Wednesday (9th). Could anyone tell me what would be a good mini amp (Poss. 5w - not sure) to get?

All replies are welcomed. :D

I happen to like the Roland Micro-Cube- incredibly, I believe it's rated at 2 watts. This little amp came to my attention when I saw street bands in subways, and it cranks out some good volume for such a tiny thing. It has a handle, runs on AC or battery power, has 5 different modeling effects- clean, flange, chorus, reverb, distortion, and something else I can't remember. It has a tuner- just the tone of 440 A, and you can also tune a 1/2 step down with the tuner if you want. Weighs maybe 10 lbs. I really like it. Look up reviews at harmonycentral, or samedaymusic. Cost is usually in the $100 range, unless you find a sale.

Have a happy.

Yeah agreed ^^

A friend has this little amp. It has some great tones with his fender strat and dont be put off by the wattage it can sure belt out some volume (without going all muddy and distorted) :)

Thank you very much for your advice... I went out to the Allegro Music today in Chelmsford and bought myself a Roland Micro-Cube :D - I tested one out in store and they sound stunning! Now to plug in and play away :D
