Has anyone tried or subscribed to Guitar Scale Mastery? Interested in getting some feedback on it and if it helped you out. I've been playing music (guitar and piano) most of my life (57 years old), but have not mastered either one. I can jam a bit and am locked in to pentatonic patterns, but still don't feel comfortable with developing thoughtful solos.
Welcome to GT... :)
Sorry, no direct experience of this... but I would say that the site format and language are very familiar - reminds me of a product called 'fret2fret'... which is a total waste of time. I suspect this would be the same. Having played guitar for 23 years now, there are no shortcuts like the website promises - or if there are, no one ever told me!
On scale knowledge and application - I apologise for the shameless plug, but have you seen the newsletter articles for 'Scale of the Month'? They only scratch the surface, but would maybe give you some food for thought.
Check out the archive here (http://www.guitartricks.com/newsletter_archive.php) - each month is a different scale, all in A so you can compare them to each other. Jan 2008's newsletter might be the place to start - it's on the Natural Minor scale, which is pretty good for most musical genres...
Hope that helps some... maybe the other guys here have seen the product?
