I'm getting a Kramer Striker (yes, from music yo) that has the hum-sing-sing setup on it. I've tried the dual and quadrails before and wasn't too impressed, so i'm going to replace everything.

I've got a 12 string w/P90's, and a Tele 50th anniversary custom special that has single coils that are remarkably deep, and then my two main guitars are humbucker loaded: a Gretsch Bo Diddley w/Gretsch pickup (very sweet) and an SG with a Duncan Buckshot in the bridge and a Gibson standard hum in the neck.

With the Kramer i'm gonna use a DiMarzio distortion in the bridge, and then i want to get something cleaner for the mid and neck. I want some warmth & twang, i was thinking a set of Fender Texas Specials, but in all honesty i'm not part of the single coil league and don't know what to look for. Hell, I don't even know if they'll fit as the fender pickups mount to a pickguard and this one doesn't have one.

Any suggestions as to what pickups to get? Also, has anyone ever tried one of the Black Ice Overdrives they have at the stewmac page? And what about preamps?

God I feel like a newbie...

I bought one of these all-tube preamps new back in '91, and I like it so much that I bought two more last year.

But don't take my word for it... there's plenty of reviews at: http://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/Data/Peavey/Rockmaster-01.html

If you can find one of these, grab it and don't let go! The only other effect you'll need is a reverb unit.
