Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgh... please please help me!

I'm playing a piece where you need really fast pinch harmonic picking. I can do pinch harmonics fine when I'm attacking on the downstroke, but cant do it at ALL on the upstroke.

Is it possible? How do you do it???

Thanks

just really "choke up" on that pick so that
the index finger acts like the thumb on the other
side of the pick when you up-pick?

*jarviss runs and gets guitar to check it out*

So it's the index finger? I was trying to do it with my ring finger!

Can you do that then? What type of music do you play?

yikes! the ring finger? I would hate to see the way you hold that pick!

Cant you just do 2 quick downstrokes?

the famous bassist has a technique where he picks the strings while his ring finger touches it... Moving his fingers along the strings changes the pitch of the harmonic... I guess that you could transpose this technique to the guitar pretty easily.

Hmmmmmmm. Single strokes would be a little hard, the piece isreally quite quick..
