View Full Version : Amp Help
Does anyone have any comments about these two amps; Johnson JM150 millenium , and the Yamaha DG80-112. I've heard rave reviews on the Yamaha, but I've heard that the Johnson needs alot of fixing over a period of time.
Comments?

umm, i dont trust a company like yamaha personally. reminds me too much of motorcycles. the johnsons are nice, but if you want a modeling amp, i can totally recommend Line6. very nice sounds as long as you go with the AX and not the Flextones, theyre not as versatile. take care.

I definately would not suggest using any Yamaha equipment. Everyone I know who has gotten anything with the Yamaha name has been very dissapointed in it's performance and/or longevity.

I haven't played either amp. I did play with a guy who used the DG-80 and it sounded good, but was pretty susceptible to outside noise (stage, lights, etc.) I have always had great luck with Yamaha quality. I have an old 1975 FG150 Accoustic, a 1995(?) LD-10E Acoustic/Electric and an SY-22 Keyboard. The guitars play great and stay in tune. I have had no problems with any of their gear. I haven't used their electric guitars or amplifiers, so I don't have any info there.
