hey guys just a quickie :)
i been playing for a few years now but ive only really started to go overboard with the electric guitar, went and got myself a VOX aD100VT and a digitech metal Master pedal. and im using a JS1000 guitar, now when im playing clean i can have a run of everything im playing really well, it sounds great but when i add some distortion to it i find it sounds messy i can hear everylittle thinig do + all the crap around it, ie if i play anything solo related i can hear a really messy sound and nothing like i hear off a live performace , , but is there any tips ppl can give me to get the best clean sound when playing through a distortion pedal or is it just my playing tech i have to work on to get it sounding really clean

Sounds like you need to study on how to mute strings and isolate what you're trying to play. Anything other than what you want to sound out, must be deadened, especially at higher volume.

the way u do wat dvention is suggestin is the followin.

when playing lead place the part of your hand below the thumb on thestrings above the one you are playing. this will mute these strings. this will aslo mean you have to pick from the wrist as apposed to the elbow. the elbow is used to change which string you are picking with your wrist motion.

then with thr fretting hand place the sides of the fingers against all the strings that are below the one you are playing. this will mean that all the strings above and below the one you are playing will be muted letting only the one u want to play ring out.

best of luck
