Hi Gang,

The following is from the web and shows the chords for 'Feeling Good' by Nina Simone but I don't understand how to play the chords as shown. Could I ask please, do I play these chords separately or are they supposed to be combined in some way?

Hoping someone in GT land can help.....

Best regards,

John

Not sure which song that is.. not too sure but it looks like a Capo might be needed to easily reach the chords you need to play.. I'm no "chord master" by any means..

Anyway, in case you didn't know the note after the / is the bass note for that chord. Take a D chord as an example:
||-----|--o--|-----|
||-----|-----|--o--|
||-----|--o--|-----|
||-----|-----|-----|
xx-----|-----|-----|
xx-----|-----|-----|

The D/F# chord would be:
||-----|--o--|-----|
||-----|-----|--o--|
||-----|--o--|-----|
||-----|-----|-----|
||-----|-----|-----|
||-----|--o--|-----|

A chord progression using this chord would be, for example:
| D | D/F# | G | Asus4 | A

Although the Asus4 is only played for a quarter of a beat or something like that..

I don't know how to play the chords you are asking for help on, off the top of my head.. but hopefully the "slashed chord" theory might shed some light on the trouble you are having.

Gm Gm/F Gm/Eb Gm/D
As user light487 correctly states those are a type of "slash chord" in which the first letter is the chord "proper" and the second letter after the "slash" is the bass note.

I don't know that song or artist. So, I can't help with the rhythm. But this is one way to finger those chords:

E|--3--|--3--|--3--|--3--|--3--|
B|--3--|--3--|--3--|--3--|--3--|
G|--3--|--3--|--3--|--3--|--3--|
D|--5--|--3--|--1--|--0--|-----|
A|-----|-----|-----|-----|--5--|
E|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|
Gm Gm/F Gm/Eb Gm/D or Gm/D

Hope this helps.
