Delaying a signal

Hello
Does anyone have any idea how i might delay a signal by a few milliseconds. I dont want it like a conventional delay, where you hear the initial signal and then an echo of it, I want just the delayed signal. The point of this is to create the double tracked feel in a live scenario. Are there any delay pedals anyone knows of that all you to kill the original signal and just have the delayed one, or does anyone know of any other way to do this?

Umm, maybe try a stereo delay....I think they will bounce the delay back and forth between 2 amps....Just connect to 1 amp and jam...

Not sure if this is what your looking for, but it's worth a try...not sure why you'd want to delay your main signal either, but if that's what you want to do....

The best way in my opinion to get a thick "recording" kind of sound live is to use 2 amps and run in stereo....You'd be surprised at how much thicker your tone would be...I know this option can be pricey though...

well i do use two amps live running in stereo and it sounds amazing, but i reckon i could get it MORE amazing by delaying one by a few milliseconds cos i do that with our recordings and if you listen to them i am sure you will agree that it makes my Telecaster sound like a Leviathan! But thanks for your advice i will toy with a delay pedal! Cheers boss.

Stereo delay with as tight a delay as possible for one pass of the signal only. Send the original pass to one cab (left) and the delayed signal to another (right)- possible to do with a stereo delay pedal.

you could use a laptop with a sound delayer, it delays the sound because the data has to travel through the sound card and if you have the right one... :)

use one of those adapters that changes "guitar cable" to "headseat cable" for the in, and out.

It's just a suggestion.
