Ernie Balls.

Ernie Ball = The best way to turn steel into scrap-metal without the by-product of longevity. May as well wire teh guitar with dental floss (I haven't had a set that lasted longer than a week.)

I used to go with DR High Beams because they lasted forever, but I haven't used them in years since I haven't been able to find them so I use D'addarios (they're almost as good).

They do die quickly, about 2 weeks of 2 hour a day playing, but I've tried many brands (from boomers to d'darrio to dr) and I'm the hapiest with the Ernie Balls.

I use Ernie Ball Super Slinky's. Like others have said, they do die out fast, but I just stick with them because it's really the only brand I've ever really used.

I love the sound of Martin SP electric strings, but the 3 high strings always end up turning black on me. :P

GHS boomers are also pretty good. They're what I prefer if I want to use a heavier string gauge than usual. Overall the longest lasting strings I've tried have been Curt Mangans (they also sound great). I tried elixer strings once, but they inexplicably didn't last as long for me as normal strings do.

I've gone from Ernie Ball regular slinky to DR pure Blues, due to the fact that I just wasn't impressed with the quality of the slinky's. I'm currently thinking of trying some Boomers out. A few of my friends use them and have liked them, so why not. About the Dr's though... no complaints, string life could be better, but then again you can buy their coated strings as well. :rolleyes:

Ernie Balls for electric. D'Adario or Curt Mangan for acoustic. I had Fender Silver Bullets on my Strat and liked them but went to Ernie Balls when they tired. Best to experiment I say.

Wow n ones gets on with Ernie Balls, I personally lvoe ernie balls they feel so comfortable to play i generally use 10's but sometimes 12 if in feeling a bit outrageous. I tryed di addrio but i found they fell out of tune so easily and the broke all the time. i have used roto sound a comple of times, they were ok nothing special.

I've been playing for nearly 15 years now and the best strings I've used are Ernie Ball Super Slinky's (9's - the pink pack). They stay in tune after you stretch them out (takes up to three days to do it properly) and most importantly the tone is spot on - great sustain and nice bright full sound. Slinky's are very easy to bend and take a lot of punishment, they only really break if you abuse them.

I like Elixir "Super Light" Anti-Rust (Polyweb Coated) Electric strings............

Had a set of Elixers on my Jem for over a year, sounded the same all the way through and the anti-rust coating kept them clean. However, I recently changed back to Super Slinky's and I noticed an immediate diffirence in tone (brighter, better sustain and a warmer feel). Slinky's float my boat but when it comes to longevity you can't beat Elixers.
