Hello everyone. I just wanted to let everybody know that I am no longer a moderator. I have been very vocal about my opinion on things lately, and that is not something that a moderator should do. So, I basically told Jon that if I'm not allowed to voice my opinion, then I'd rather be a regular member again, and that's exactly what happened. I never asked to be in this position in the first place. Jon came to me and asked for my help, and I agreed to help out. I'm glad I was able to help out for the time that I did, but now it's time for me to just sit back and relax, and I'm happy about that. :)

Well, I respect your decision but not sure I understand it though. I think you did a kick butt job as a mod. Again however, I respect your decision.

I will miss the guitar tricks truck dearly. Its cool you don't have to hold back to set a good example and such....but does this mean we can poke fun at you in the chat (if we get it back) without our names being changed? :p
Ahhh good olde chat days.

Well, I recall seeing something about how being a member of AGC whatever was frowned upon, so it was bound to happen sometime. :D We'll miss ya as a mod. In a completely non-wierd way that is.

Ahem, I am not one who likes to correct but I have got to point out here I actually said 'kick butt' job and not 'kiss a**' job but I am sure he gets the point. :D

I don't even know if 'kick' or 'butt' is appropriate. I'd say he sure did a prodding buttock job ;)

You were one of the best mods on the board, if only for the fact that you voiced your opinion and you actually gave a damn about stuff. Your position as a mod will be missed, but so long as you're still going to be around on here then all is well. :)

Thanks for all the kind words and support guys! I'm definitely going to continue to hang out at GT. I'm just not gonna have to worry with the hassle of all the moderator crap, and actually get to enjoy the forums again.
Rep to all that reply (unless I get the dreaded "you must spread..." message).

rep??? oh yes ...Eric is the best!!! the king of mods....the top o' the heap :D
I always thought you were more of a "Rocker" than a "Mod" anyhow
you were very professional in your position and always stayed calm and gave great advice to the noob-and if you did not know an answer you would guide them in the right direction to find it, rather than act like you know and give not so good advice----zoso turns to look in mirror

Holy crap.
Bearing in mind Rask and LATS haven't been on here in a while, and Marcos hasn't been as frequent on here as normal, and Jon never posts on here.
Chaos ensues. :)

Meh, y'all aren't that bad. It's been a long time since I've had to do anything other than move threads to the correct section and delete spam and double posts. Now, I don't even have to worry about that... it's nice

Glad you have your new freedom. Now you can just have fun. I can't help but wonder what is happening here though. The chat is in question, the moderators are at a minimum. Is GT heading for a fall? I hope not! I have grown to really like this place and the people.

GT is going through a strange phase at the moment, that's for sure.

I wish, but I've got two kids that are out of school for the summer that I've got to look after. So, it'll be a few months before I'm able to get some time to record again. I'll get back to it eventually though.

If you guys see any ANY posts that need moderation please click the post report button. Even though I'm not posting too much these days I still check my E-mail. I'll be able to come in and get rid of spam or whatnot for you guys.
What is odd is membership has nearly doubled the last year yet the forum has shrunk. I don't get it.

I must ask: how's it feel to have the whole forum dumped on your shoulders?
Magicninja: Well, you guys are generally well behaved. Spam isn't rampant but still a nuisance. With the amount of posting going on these days I daresay I might actually be able to deal with it. Which is sad in a way.
If I can ever click the right button! :p

Be yourself at all costs. It's the only way you'll be happy and that's the most important thing. Besides, you can't help others with a neutral opinion.

In no particular order:
Being a moderator is, and always has been, a volounteer position. There are priveliges and responsibilities, but no pay. You guys have been good enough at keeping each other civil that there hasn't been as much for us to do lately. Eric has been one of the best, and we'll miss his skill. I have a copy of the truck. The forum usually gets a bit strange in the summer. Life happens to people, and priorities change. I started a new job at the end of February, and it has left me less time for GT. Motorcycle season is back, and I'm spending more time with my FJ1200S. (A Yamaha, of course :D ) I still think of this place as my home on the net.

I've been 'lurking' more than posting, lately. I've been here long enough that I've already answered the usual questions several times, and I sound 'brittle' when I carp on peeps about using the Search function.
There has not been a lot of moderation required lately. Kudos to all for being decent to each other.
Spammers abound. Some days it feels like scraping barnacles off a boat hull.
The GT site is experiencing some growing pains. Any organisation has some staff turnover at times like this.
Discussion continues. ;)
Things aren't like they used to be. I guess time will tell whether that's good or bad. I like the way you modded the boards dude - and you guys are right, we're pretty well behaved in general, and those who aren't don't seem to last long.
I can relate on being able to say what you want - kinda the purpose of 'open discussion', it'd be a drag not to be able to just say what I think.
Hopefully the new found freedom will mean we'll see you around more again Eric... :)
