You are right... there was. There used to be a link in the red bar above... but it seems to have disappeared. I have no idea what happened.

I have been monitoring the chat for about a month. There was almost no participation.

So, I removed the link about a week ago.

I think it is bad practice to have service available that isn't really useful.

I don't really understand why it wasn't used very much. Other sites with fewer people have very active chats.

Awh... We have had some really great conversations in the chat... True, lately there didn't seem to be anyone in there much. And the people that I chatted with the most in there - I now have thier MSN addresses.

Does that mean you are going to replace it with another service that may be more useful?

Yeah I miss it too but there would never be anyone in there when I would have the chance to sit and shoot the shizzle for a while. There was a voice chat option there too for a while. I popped in there a few times but there was no one in there so I was just talking to myself.

Don't need the computer for that. I do that here at the house all the time... :o

Golly, I just thought that everyone was like me, spending hours upon hours each day practicing their guitars, and were too busy to hang out in chat rooms! You mean I was wrong!!! <gasp> ;)

Peace,
Tom

Only reason I haven't been in there recently was because I'd been busy with College; the wednesday night chats were fun.

And there was a voice feature? How cool!

Guitar Chats are fun, and can be very useful.

Esp. when there are new guitarists who need some quick advice, or need to talk to some pro guitarists. :)

To Bad no one used it, I think it added another element to this forum here.

I didn't use it very often, but when I did, I really enjoyed it. I'm gonna miss the chat just like every single other person on here who ever used the chat. Why can't you just bring the chat back Jon? It's obvious people like it, whether they use it often or not. Also, this has to be the only forum that I've ever been to without a members list. While you're at it, why don't you bring that back too please. Sorry, guess that's just wishful thinking on my part :(

Here's an idea- bring back the chat and require the forum moderators to be on it a certain number of hours per week/month. :p

In the end, I'm sure it all boils down to money in one way or another. Just like everything else on the site nowadays.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to PRSplaya again.

That is not a Bad Idea.

Although I have one simular, Have a Scheduled Chat session every week.

With a different GT instructor each week, Then people could come in and Ask him Questions about his lessons or ask for Advice etc.

and Advertise the Chat Session in the Forum, with a Thread saying who that Person will be.

There would be a Chat party!! :D

you would have upwards of 15-20 people probably in the Chatroom. which isn't that bad.

Well, just a Idea! :)

Well, we used to have a Wednesday night chat, which was great.

But then as you do, people get busy, I got busy with my degree and so on and so I couldn't make the chat nights for a good few months.

I'd love to go in the chat right now, but I don't pay to be here so my opinion doesn't count.

That's actually a far better idea than mine.

All the different time zones that people live in is what causes the most problems of not having many people in the chat at one time.

sometimes, I agree. On the other hand, I know there were a few times where I was able to chat with Josh over in Oz BECAUSE of the time difference.

I was a paying member of the site for over a year and recently dropped it because I realized I was getting more from the forum than any of the lessons.

If people could please give some support in that thread then we may be able to get the chat room back. :)
