An Acoustic Electric Guitar

Is an acoustic electric guitar a guitar that looks like an acoustic but sounds like an electric? or does it sound like a acoustic still but you can just turn up the volume on your amp?

An acoustic electric is basically an electric guitar with a hollow body.
As opposed to an acoustic guitar with pickups.

This is mine. It simulates the sounds pretty close to an real acoustic but feels like an electric.

Well, it's like putting acoustic strings on your electric.

Thanks guys. I don't think I'm going for an electric yet. I have been really eyeing Bobby Howe's guitar though.

Maybe once I have the Barre Chords mastered I'll move onto Electric.
