Hello, All,

Well, it's me with another newbie question!!!

I've been including scales in my practice time, and actually enjoy it :) . The problem is, I'm doing ok on the scales I know (2 octave C Major and 2 octave A Minor scale), and am not sure where to go next. So I'll ask the experts!! What scales would be a good next step for me, and where can I find them (I'm trying to avoid going out and paying real money for "Dashing Dave's Neato Book of 10,000,000 Scales" If I can avoid it right now, just bought a new guitar, y'know) I appreciate any suggestions you may make!

Peace,
Tom

Christopher Schlegel has some great tutorial on the pentatonic Scale.

Pentatonic Framework. Take time to go throught this one in detail. This is priceless.

Pentatonic Minor

Since you know the Major scale, this will be your logical step after the pentatonic. It shows you how to incorporate notes from the major scale in the pentatonic minor.

"Dashing Dave's Neato Book of 10,000,000 Scales"

I've bought that book. Don't waste your time. They start to repeat after 9,000,000 :D

That's true, Hunter, but you gotta give Dashing Dave props, the Pentalyricalmyzoicharmonolorianmettzolydianmelodicphrygianistic etudinous scalce in D Sharp-Flat is pretty brilliant!!

On a serious not, thank you Benoit, for the suggestions. I'll jump into those tutorials on the next step in my odyssey towards Guitar Mediocrity!!!!

Peace,
Tom
