Hey if u got some cool riddles that just breath coolness, post em here. Make sure they are tough. Here are some of mine. Try to guess these!

1. Two men are playing chess. Each won the same number of games (5) out of all 5 games they played. No draws. How can you figure this?

2. A man is living in New York. Why can't he be buried west of the Mississippi River?

3. A man builds a house in which all four walls have southern exposure. A big bear wanders by. What color is the bear?

4. If you take two apples from a man with three apples, what do you have left?

5. There are 17 sheep. If all but nine dies, how many sheep will be left?

I'll explain these after I get a good response.

I have not yet read Erics answers, I will do so after I post my own, in white ofcourse, and see how ours compare.

1. Two men are playing chess. Each won the same number of games (5) out of all 5 games they played. No draws. How can you figure this?
jThey are not playing against each other

2. A man is living in New York. Why can't he be buried west of the Mississippi River?
Well, he is still alive, so let's not bury him just yet

3. A man builds a house in which all four walls have southern exposure. A big bear wanders by. What color is the bear?

well, in order for all four walls to be facing south, the house needs to be at the North Pole, so the bear, a polar bear, is white

4. If you take two apples from a man with three apples, what do you have left?
You have only the two apples that you took

5. There are 17 sheep. If all but nine dies, how many sheep will be left?
This one confused me...is it something to do with "dies" rather than "die"? If not, then there are 9 sheep left

1. They were playing different people and not each other..

2. Because he's LIVING in New York and not dead.

3. The house would have to sit directly on the north pole. Polar bears are the only bears that live there. They appear white, but their hair is actually hollow and clear.

Facts:
1: There are 5 houses in 5 different colours.
2: In each house lives a person of different nationality.
3: No two owners play the same game, smoke the
same cigar, or drink the same beverage.

Further details:
1: The Brit lives in a red house.
2: The Swede plays Scrabble.
3: The Dane drinks Tea.
4: The green house is immediately left of the White house.
5: The owner of the green house drinks coffee.
6: The person who smokes Pall Mall plays Dominoes.
7: The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8: The man living in the center house drinks milk.
9: The Norwegian lives in the first house to the left.
10: The man who smokes Blend lives next to the man that plays Checkers.
11: The man who plays Bridge lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12: The owner who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13: The German smokes Prince.
14: The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15: The man who smokes Blend has a neighbour who drinks water.

Now .. using logic, tell me .. who is the chess player ?

I think you may have worded this wrong. If you are implying the there are only five games played and each one an equal number then the equal number that they won could not have been five. Each could have won a max of 2 games.

You're not thinking this one through... where in the original statement did it say that they played 5 games against each other? ;)

I read it the same way as you at first. And came up with the same answer. but he says the each on 5 games out of 5 games played. If they were two sets of games that would be 10 games played. So if there are only 5 games played, the most that can be won by each and have the same number of games won would be two. Each won two games. and one player played against a third player and lost.

4.) You can get 21 apples. You buy 15 apples with your $15. You can trade in your 15 wrappers for 5 more apples. You can then trade in 3 of those 5 wrappers for another apple.

Ah yes, I see my mistake now.

There's this game called "MindTrap" that has a ton of riddles like these. For the past month or so I've been grabbing a handful each night and refusing to go to sleep until I solve them. One of these days I'll pick out a few good ones and post 'em.

You got all but three right...

1.) Sorry, wrong. The answer is:Fourteen. By spelling out the name of each number, each word has one more letter than the one before it.<

3.) I should be more specific...they have five children together. Of those, half are boys. How? The answer: They're all boys.<

12.) Wrong. The answer:They never will. Every second cycle their right feet will match up, but never their left.<

12.) Wrong. The answer:<

I pondered over #1 for some time and all I could find was they equalled the sum of 14 when grouped. The correct answer never dawned on me.

#3 by common sense tells me that 10 children is necessary to fit the quota because no parent has 1/2 boy, but after evaluating, I'm mistaken...

#12 caught the error, it's an odd / even thing.....
Very good, I'll see if I can think up some others.......
