What do you all feel about synthesizers, beatboxes, and stuff of that sort? Do any of you use them?

...but as for beatboxes, I find my old DR202 is just fine for practice at home. It makes practice a lot more interesting than a simple metronome. If I come up with something on my own, I don't have the fustration of trying to describe to the drummer what I have in mind.
Live? Leave that to the Hip-Hop crowd.

rhythm boxes are great to practice too, it does wonder for ones sense of time & makes practicing more fun. Check out the Korg Pandora's Box !!

One of my freinds is a DANCE freak! Which isn't all that bad, cos some of the sounds he gets out of his keyboards are great... i think you can even get someone to sing somthing in like Middle C, and the rest of the keys will tune that up/down each corresponding note, with out increasing the speed, which i think is wonderful... however he's considers hime self a minimilist, and so everything is an instramental, and a little cold and empty...
Being quite an FX happy guitarist, i dont see much difference between some of the sounds you get from synthasysers and a guitar that's gone through so many pedals it's lost most of the original signal...

Because with a beatbox you only have to punch the information in once.
