Help! While at band practice yesterday (after about 3 hours of moderate volume playing) my guitar sound would just fade away, then slowly build back up over about 15 seconds. It happened 3 times.
I use a Fender Mexi hss strat, digitek rp200 pedal into a peavey bandit 112. I have used this same set-up for the past 6 months.

Changing pick-ups did not make a difference, and the volume and tone of the guitar were all on 10 the whole time. Moving the cable did not make a difference.

Of course, I cannot recreate the problem when I am trying figure out what component is the offender.

Any ideas? I plan to start with the cable-just cause I am cheap.

My guess is that it's your amp. You might try and see if it ever happens with another amp.

I had a problem like this. *In my case* it was the volume pot was screwed inside-not necessarily a wiring problem.

When this happens, try wiggling the shaft of the volume pot, if there's a reaction, you'll probably need a new one.

Guitar or amp volume pot?

He's probably reffering to his guitar since I've never heard someone refer to the volume knob as a volume pot on an amp. If it turns out to be the amp, which is the most likely scenario, I'd take it to your local guitar shop and explain the situation. They'll probably plug in and jam on it untill it happens and tell you what they think is up.
