My style is metal mostly, I say mostly because I mainly play instrumental. I guess it is a mix of Steve Vai and Rusty Cooley, not that I sound like them I just seem to pull from those two styles....melodic and bizarre to rip you face apart shred.

I like new stuff like Trivium or Children Of Bodom, but mainly instrumental like Vai. Older stuff like Iron Maiden or Amorphis. Dream Theater rock!

I figured as much. Many of us with a lot of years under our strap seem to have been influenced in some way by the sounds spewing up from Hell!!!!
As for me, I wanted to throw my guitar out the window during my 2nd year playing after seeing Rhoads on the Blizzard of Ozz tour!!!! I couldn't listen to myself stumbling over another pentatonic run for about a month. Funny what a little persistance can develop into. A lot of greats have surfaced since then, including Marty Friedman, but no one has made me just want to throw in the towel thinking that I suck, like that wizard Rhoads did playing that flying V while riding on top of Ozzy's shoulders!!!!!!!!

Yes Randy was something!!! I remember trying to learn the solo for crazy train after only have playing for a couple years. I also remember hearing Marty for the first time and thinking this guys is nuts what is that weird scale he is playing with all those weird licks, it was awesome!
