I would but I don't think I have the technology. Heck man, my computer has a crank on the side. I am not sure but I think the brand is a DeLorean...but I'll check and see if it'll work.

Nope, but i'll gladly talk to ya ninj, if i can pick up a mike from somewhere! how does it work? i assume ya have to be online at the same time? (probably a dumb ass question i know!) just thinkin about the time difference ya'know, what with you bein down New Mexico way an me bein in the UK, wouldn't wanna interupt ya nobblin the mrs, err i mean eatin ya dinner....or....somethin....like that :eek: ;)

It's just like yahoo messenger or MSN with mics pretty much. Talking instead of typing. They have what's called Skypecast which are pretty much like talk shows. With a host and you come up and talk on the topic. You got your share of perverts like anyother chat but there are ways to block them out. It's actually alot of fun imo.

OK - well I installed it & tried it. I dont have a headset or a PC mike, so I used a recording mike and my Toneport which Skype recognised - so I assume any form of sound input (analog or USB) would work... I recorded a 'test call' using my guitar!

Wonder if it would work for jamming online...? :confused:

Yeah actually in those skypecasts I talked about earlier they have karaoke rooms. I've seen some where you can go in and play a song to people, kinda like an open mic night at a club. A couple of us could get together and host a Guitartricks Skypecast and answer guitar questions and bring people to the site.

Is there any unwanted ad crap with it? Sometimes these free software things bring unwanted popup or spyware. If not I'll give it a shot.

The only ad stuff I seen on there was to buy cell phones and head sets to use with skype but it was on the site not as popups. Other than that no. They have tens of millions of members. I don't think they need to fund it with too much advertising. I've scanned after I installed it and I didn't find any kind of wares.

Yep, you can have what they call conferences. Pretty much one guy calls everyone into the chat room and you can all hang out and talk it up.

Yes we could definatly do that. We could even do Skypecasts and hold public guitar chats. There seems to be a lack of them there on Skype. Plenty of Music chats though. Just none dedicated strictly to guitar. I'm sure we're just the people to bring it to them.
