Frankly, I find the whole idea of poker being considered a sport lame. Seriously, television coverage? Bad boys of Poker? Sunglasses and hoodies? Have we become so slug-like that watching others play cards is entertainment? What's next? Competitive Jenga? Tag-team Yahtzee? International Federation of Connect Four?

It'd be weird to see a poker game with commentary done by a coupla really loud guys, like a hockey game.
"And he's coming down the table ... it's getting close... OH MY GOD... IT'S A 2 OF SPADES!!!"

Watching poker on tv is just as bad as watching golf. I laugh when I see them with glasses on though. If they were that good, they wouldn't need glasses to hide their bluff.

Its on about 4am here, usually around the time I get to bed. Really helps me get to sleep. Sunglasses? Silliness.

Same here..I have to or people think I'm a serial killer or something.
I've got this realy intense stare that scares the crap outa some people.
Besides... mirrored sunglasses are fun. You can stare at people all you want and nobody notices....like checking out a girls butt while you pretend to look the other way.

That's funny. I get accused of the same thing. The reason I stare so hard is because my eyes have always been bad. I practically have to squint at anything to see it. I've been told I have 'the thousand yard' stare. I have no idea what it means but it could explain why I have such a tough time getting dates.... :D It wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that my face looks like a catchers mitt...you think?

I wear shades every chance I get, but just because my eyes are so sensitive to light. These poker guys look ridiculous though. I would rather watch grass grow, or watch the paint dry with zoso, than watch poker on TV.

Poker on TV has a purpose - and it's the same purpose as televised snooker, tennis, darts, lawn bowls, cricket and blah and blah...

you can be as bombed as you like, and still follow it. I sometimes watch poker on TV, but generally only when I'm so wrecked that I can't change the station.

Wearing shades when playing cards is cheating though... unless everyone does.

I like watching poker on tv from time to time. It helps me with my game when I see the way the pros throw their chips around.
