Just out of curiosity, what size/shape of necks do you all prefer? I like either the stocky feel of a larger neck like a les paul or the thin sleek feel of an Ibanez. I can't stand anything in between the two extremes.

Well my favourite is the thicker ones thats on my fender
signature model.
I dont like the thin ones, because I think that the thumb
gets a very awkward position.
I dont really know what the thin necks are for, but
I heard something about them being faster, which
I find totally inaccurate.
My experience is that I tend to miss some tones or
just be slower, since you cant get a good firm
grip around the guitar.
I guess that depends what you usually play with,
but I vote for the thick.

The main reason I like to use thinner necks is simply becuase I have smallish hands. And I do find they are faster for doing complex barre chord things even if they arent faster for shredding.

I used to own a stratocaster with a neck so thick it made me think it was a baseball bat... Well my bends and vibrato have never been better than on this neck!!
I now prefer thinner ones to play jazzier lines with more legato technique

I prefer thin necks because i have big hands and it give me space to move around

I come from the classical side, so on electrics I like flat and wide fretboards, and a medium thick neck.

I love Jackson necks with jumbo frets. It is so much easer to grab and bend srtings when you get a good bite on the highter strings. scaloped necks are also good. but take some getting use to.

how about fretboard wood types?
any suggestions on which wood type you find
"the fastest"?
or what other qualities should i look for in a
fingerboard?
thanks
