I've got to rant about Zakk Wylde......

While I know these things aren't his fault, I'm blaming him anyway b/c he endorses them with his name....

1. Zakk Wylde overdrive pedal. Quit working for me after about 8 months. Something to do with the switch. I know others on here have had the same problem.

2. Zakk Wylde signature Wah Pedal. Still works and is the best sounding wah in my opinion, but the battery cover won't stay on and nothing is broke to keep it from staying in....have duct tape on the bottom of the pedal to keep the battery in......plus, the little rubber feet have already popped off and the screws won't go all the way in so the metal cover on the bottom is loose. Gonna fix that with some washers.......

3. The whole 357 Choppers deal. I got caught up in that, paid around $400 for an MP4 player and was supposed to get a free diecast Zakk Wylde model bike and also a Epiphone Buzzsaw ZW signature guitar......Well, I got the stupid diecast bike, but never saw anything else, even the MP4 player. I wouldn't be as pissed if I had got the MP4 player and nothing else.....It really was one of those too good to be true things.....but I had talked to someone in a local band that jumped on that deal the last time they ran it and they received their guitar, so that's the main reason I jumped on it, thought it was actually legit.

Okay, I'm done...........going to torch that diecast bike on stage one day.

As far as the switch on the pedal, couldn't you just replace it? One of my switches crapped out on my channel select pedal for my amp and I just picked up a new one from radio shack and soldered it right in.

Same thing happened to my ZW overdrive, but after I took the switch apart and put it back together again, it worked fine. It only gets caught half way on occasion, but it's usually from not clicking it hard enough.

I have the ZW overdrive and wah pedal and havent had any problems.

But I did get caught up in the 357 choppers BS, I got the chopper model (POS btw) but didnt get the mp4 player and most importantly the guitar. But Zakk got ripped off just as much as we did he was supposed to get all sorts of stuff that they didnt deliver on. He was supposed to get money for some ring tones stuff which he didnt, he was supposed to get a chopper worth like 28,000 and didnt. I was hoping Zakk would fight for people like me and you who got taken advantage of as well.

I'll torch my crappy dicast model on stage too and tape it, then we can send the video to zakk and maybe he will give us free crap :p

Zakk was saying that he was sueing 357 over that deal. But, who's gonna get the money if he wins the lawsuit? Him!!!!! We're screwed........

Did you spray any kind of cleaner in the switch? That's what mine does, it works, but I have to stomp on it really hard or it gets stuck or something and the sound just drops out....

he has become more overrated as time has gone on.... but could any one of us jump in the shoes of Randy Rhoads at the age of 19 on a world tour with Ozzy Osbourne.........?? Then write a record with him....?? Hm?

yes...i bet a few could...i will say at that age it is impressive ....but what has he done since then, and he is more famous now than he was then.

I think the biggest thing about him that makes him so overrated now is his lack of maturity in his music.... His most mature stuff was written on his Pride and Glory and Book of Shadows albums... in my opinion... but that was in the early to mid 90's. That lack of maturity is where he comes off as overrated.... Since he hasn't really gotten any better since he was 19. It's like he peaked at that moment and just plateaued....

Thats not really true, the last 2 albums sound nothing like the old BLS albums, hangover music volume 6 was different than all the others as well.

Zakk is no doubt overrated, theres no arguing that, but it seems like alot of the elitist guitarist have it out for him, if you dont like his music dont listen to it :rolleyes:

I listen to BLS when I feel like listening to some chunky beefy guitar playing (although there last few albums are straying away from it). Its not the kind of music you want to listen to if you want highly technical intelligent playing.

I'm the same way... I dont' care if he's overrated or not... I still like his music. It has it's place in my cd collection...
