Beautiful track Julian. I heard it last night and couldn't wait to get to it this morning. Usually it takes me 20 or more runs at a track before I start to feel I'm on the right track but this one took me 4 attempts before I had my take. I'll try and improve it as the month passes. I couldn't get anything for last months track.
Hope you Enjoy.

Thanks for the comments. The recording is a bit screwed up in spots for some reason.
alucard0941 The tone is just my strat though a Podxt Live. The amp model is their 68 Plexi Jump Lead through 4x12 1996 Brit Celestion v-30's. Also have it mic-ed off axis and Briteroom Reverb. It's also Eq'ed. If you want all the settings I'll post then for you.

liked it alot. the thing that particularly stood out to me was the use of those cool little chords you threw in just kindof in pentatonic position. your lead style is good and there are parts in the song that sounded really cool. im a huge fan of the mark knoffler-type soloing so i liked how there was minimal picking and more pedal point-type lead parts. the only thing i would say is that some of the parts are a little off time, which could be something as practical as not being able to hear the backing track or just your fingers being disobedient...other than that, good take.

Cookie: I thought tour take was pretty sweet! I also liked the way you mixed in the little 2 string chord action.
Guitarfreak141: Give it a shot man. These guys out class me but I try and post something every month. If nothing else it's a great way to learn and try different styles.

Yet another ace track! My first (very) rough draft is here...
WrigglerUK Hard on the Ears (http://www.arav82.dsl.pipex.com/)
along with some other stuff you probably didn't want to know.
I just wanted to get the chorus down while it was in my head. The rest is just noodling for now. That chorus line sounds awfully familiar though - I just cant place it. If I've nicked it off someone, or if you recognize it, let me know!

Hey, nice track. This is my first time trying one of these... I'm not completely satisfied with my work... but it's late and i'm not really on my game... I dont think i could really do much with this though... Maybe if the next track is metal, lol. But tell me what yall think. Criticize please. Its funny, I recorded it before i ever read any of the posts. That means i didnt see the chords or nothing, lol. Luckily I figured the key out by ear. I think i recorded the whole thing in about 10 minutes... I dont think its too bad for a rush job. lol

heres my submission for this month:
www.myspace.com/thechadvandykeexperience
i had some fun with this one, partly because i didnt really mind sucking a bit of technical ass on the guitar side of things (the lead isnt exactly something i would put in my portfolio). it was more of a mood i was trying to set, so i did some stuff with the volume pedal and put down some simple piano comp cords and melodies to give it more volume (i just got my new piano a few days ago, so i was excited to get working with it). the lead riffs dont exactly go stale or anything, but you can kindof tell i didnt warm up or anything before i recorded this...hah. my fingers tend to want to move to the same places when i dont warm up, because i dont know where the hell i am fret-wise, so some of the riffs may sound similar. tell me what you think!

Quickfingers - that was superb! Just listened to it 3 times straight through, beautiful interplay with the piano & the crunchy guitar against the cool jazzy playing... really enjoyable listen. :)

thanks so much guys...honestly, i like every part of the song except for my faster passages because it just sounds like garbage to me. but i think it always sounds 10x worse for the guy who made it, so maybe its a little better than what i hear. hah. but thanks for the feedback. with the exception of the actual playing, i think my idea came out good. right when i heard this month's track, i knew i had to have some real slow fades and pedal steel kind of bends in it. i just wish i could have put some cool pedal point chet atkins riffs in there or something.

Nick and quickfingers I really like you guy's takes. Some really tasteful clean playing in both of them. The piano was anwesome touch as well.
I was just working on finishing mine but I broke a string and now I have to go get some :( . Hopefully Ill have it up tonight.

Hey dude I liked your track :) One thing I thought it really needed were a few dynamics especially vibrato on the long notes. You performed nicely on the Em section at the end.

Hi...
Here is my take on this months BT.
I've humbly named the tune 'Deep Blue Wonder'.
I feel like I'm out deep in the ocean for some reason when listening to it haha.
I think I might re-record the outro, cos I just go sick improv... :(
Listen to 'Deep Blue Wonder' (http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=611911) here.

One important thing that set it apart from other people's tracks is your tone, reverb and delay which made it fit into the bt better. Nice going.

Deep Blue Wonder - Very nice. Very Clean as well. I liked how you put your lead up front in the mix, as well as your tone. Also you put a nice hook on the melody. I've been trying to find one this weekend, but haven't found it yet.
Maybe this isn't the fourm to ask, but what is your setup from guitar to wav/MP#?

Hey Thanks guys...
My setup is really bad actually.
My guitar goes straight in a POD 2 out into the mic input on my laptop.
I got no Line in on my laptop, so I gotta use the mic in :o
that's it actually....
Thanks for listening

Hi ya'll!!
Here is my take for December...
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=388007
I suffered from computer issues (froze 3 times during recording, once during mixing and another time while listenning). I gave it the one finger salute many times and hopefully it'll work now.
It was kind of recorded real quick and because of the computer aggravation I was not able to do better than that kind of mix.
Tel me what you think...

For about $10 you can buy a USB audio adapter with line in/out and that would probab;y work with your laptop -->

Well, I can't stands no more... after listening to some of these takes I've decided there's no way I'm coming close no matter how much more I try! So here's my final take.

This BT seems to have brought out some really inventive thoughts and ace playing. Quickfingers, Maestro and Rgrandsire's are all way cool.

Thank you! I only have 1 Scorpions record, and I've only ever listened to it once! Probably not that. It's probably something 'subliminal' that I've heard in passing, and will never hear again...
