Hi team.
Thank you for your support. It's all done now and the 336 is great. I intend to play it and play it.
It's here: http://www.geocities.com/fanlee_rhs/ParaProj61128.htm

Great job! That thing looks pretty sweet. The only thing I don't like about it is the gold hardware. I'm not singling out that guitar, I just don't like gold hardware in general. :D

Yeah...I understand.
I agonised for quite a while over that. Basically I went with gold because my 'brief' to myself was a CS356 with bound neck etc rather than a CS336...and once it was all ordered that was that.
However at least one other poster has thought the gold gives it 'a touch of class'. I was very worried that it would look vulgar, but overall I'm OK with it.
I understand where you're coming from and I'm generally of the same opinion.

Wow! Just.... WOW!
Don't stress on the gold hardware. It enhances the warmth of the wood.
I can only imagine how satisfying it must be to play a guitar that you put so much work into.
Good on yer, mate! :D

Ooooohh...ahhhh! Nice!
As for the gold, I think it was the right call. I tried to imagine chrome, and I think would have just looked wrong, and I agree it compliments the finish too.

Really Nice Job! How does it play?
I have it set up with 0.012" relief at fret 9 & action adjusted to 1/16" at fret 12.
There were two frets that were a little high in one part only. After carefully ( :D )
levelling them off it plays very well. I used it today at our quiet jazz type lunch gig and it is just what I wanted. The Fralin humbuckers are really sweet after the more edgy DiMarzios. Not that I'm complaining. The whole aim of the CS356 was to get a guitar for the more jazzy side of things while the DiMarzios ROCK!! :D
I calculated the cost at $US 650.00 not counting time spent, sandpaper & some finishing supplies.
I am happy!! :D
I'll have to haunt the recording forum to learn how to record well.

That is absolutely amazing! I not a fan of gold hardware, only because of how it looks over time, but I do like how it looks while new, and it looks spectacular on this guitar. The gold definitely accentuates the warmth of the finish. Great work, and I can't wait to hear them!

Wow, that looks stunning, and I think the gold hardware suits it.
I can hardly imagine what it must feel like to have finally completed a guitar that you built all by yourself.
Good job!
