I don't really have a favourite era, just favourite bands, though perhaps if I look at dates I would find a large collection of stuff that I like from certain years. I guess the late 60s when Hendrix was rocking on was great, and Dylan was being Dylan. I guess also the mid 60s when the Beatles were getting on, and Dylan went electric. The late 80s to early 90s when U2 really got into it, and have continued being great ever since. Late 70s Pink Floyd.

I think there is alot of cool stuff going on right now with all the jam bands coming out and following in the wake of Phish and the dead, its been along time since I heard a guitar solo in a song. The next couple of years are gonna be good times musically I think. Here are some bands to watch out for;
String Cheese, Deep Banana Blackout, Moe, 5 for Fighting, Trane, Indigeneous and many others whose names escape me......

Always been a big fan of Zeppelin, AC/DC, sabbath, deep purple, rainbow.

As music moved on very little took my attention until Mettallica and then further down the line Limp bizkit and kid rock and linkin park.

But I suppose my all time fave has to be the real blues, Hooker, Johnson, leadbelly, bessie smith to name but a few of so many.

just like fenderblues, i was hooked into 70's hard rock for years, and recentley i discovered the blues , as i started to buy SRV, buddy guy, and other people records
but anyway my favorite rock era is the 70's, and the end of the 60's
that is where all began, if there wouldnt be Blackmore, Page, Clapton, Brian May, Towshend and other guys from this era there wouldnt be any rock music today at all

anyone who doesn't know about Ron THAL one of the funniest guitarists on the planet, must check out his site http://www.ronthal.com or http://www.bumblefoot.com he masters avery technique ever invented on the guitar, and is crazier than zappa... Of course, he would be my pick for the 90s
